Gaillardia ‘Torchlight’ is a vibrant, long-blooming perennial known for its large, daisy-like flowers with fiery red petals that fade into bright golden-yellow tips. A member of the Asteraceae family, this blanket flower variety produces striking, bi-colored blooms that stand out against its dense mound of gray-green foliage. The flowers typically measure 7–10 cm (3–4 inches) in diameter and attract butterflies and pollinators throughout the growing season.
Blooming from early summer to fall, ‘Torchlight’ thrives in well-drained, sandy or loamy soil and prefers full sun for the best flowering performance. It is an excellent choice for borders, rock gardens, wildflower meadows, and containers, offering heat and drought tolerance once established. This variety is also deer-resistant and low-maintenance, making it a perfect addition to water-wise and pollinator-friendly landscapes. Deadheading spent blooms can encourage even more flowers.
